United interested in Real Madrid ace Raul

Newcastle United are interested in signing Real Madrid veteran Raul, according to Spanish newspaper Marca.

31-year-old Raul is under contract with Los Blancos until 2011, but Marca claims that his days at the Santiago Bernabeu may be up.

The newspaper makes an ambitious claim that Newcastle United, along with Manchester City, and Liverpool are keen to secure the services of the legendary forward, and that City are prepared to outbid their rivals with a £25 million offer.

The mentioned fee will certainly scare off the Magpies, and the Reds, but if one club is prepared to dish out ridiculous fees for supposed 'superstars' then it is City.

Raul, though a living legend, is beyond Newcastle United's budget, and the club is a little below his standards at the moment as well.
