Pre Boro: Shearer ceases Barton talk

With much of the weekend and early week dominated by the clash between the Lion of Gosforth and the Huyton Heedtheball, it's good to hear Alan Shearer calling for the odious Scouse gimp to be out fo the frame. With a much more important and newsworthy event in the Boro game coming this weekend, wasting oxygen on a player who will be bounced out of the door quicker than a Bigg Market radgee this summer, seems counter-productive. Shearer said:

'It hasn`t affected us. The mood has been good and that`s encouraging. Joey has been suspended until further notice. We will make another statement or comment when the time is right. Other than that, there is far more important things to talk about. Shearer was livid after Barton`s

There are different challenges every single day. You don`t know what will face you. But I`m enjoying it.

I think a lot has been made about discipline, but there has been no crackdown. I have asked people to be in at 10am, that`s all. There is a fine system in place, but that`s all. I don`t think it is unreasonable to ask people to come to work on time.'
