Given Oba Martins has spent the best part of the last three games hobbling about clutching his groin and grimacing (in between missing golden chances, natch) it looks as if Alan Shearer's patience in the Nigerian has reached breaking point and Peter Lovenkrands, Owen and Viduka will form the forward triumvirate. Shearer praised Lovenkrands to the hilt, saying:
"He`s fully recovered now, and he`s fit again and back ready to play. I know he made a big impression when he first came here, and I thought he started well against Chelsea before he had the injury.
He couldn`t play the game after that, and it has been a similar story with a few players, but he`s back fit now, and available for selection.
He can play in a few positions, and has scored a couple of important goals. If we need him, hopefully he can do the same again."
