'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Post Liverpool: Bassong

With most of us covering our eyes once we realised Coloccini was in the team, Seb Bassong probably thought the same whilst looking at the Liverpool players swarming through our fragile ranks. Despite all this however he`s still adamant we can get out of trouble. The Frenchman said:

We obviously wanted to get something from this game. But again we are relying on others to help us. The results went for us at the weekend and now we need that again tonight. I will be supporting Aston Villa tonight for certain, just like the rest of the Newcastle fans will be.

If we can go into our game with Middlesbrough still able to climb out of the bottom three, we`ll all be happy. It`s still not over yet. We felt it was offside for the opening goal. But it happened and we had to take it on the chin. We still have to keep fighting. We`re not giving up yet. We will keep going until the last, it just means that the Middlesbrough game is even bigger. We will dust ourselves down and get on with the job."
