'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Pre Pompey: Bassong

A succinct Sebastian Bassong summed up the massive task facing us this upcoming Monday as he named it as a must win game for the club. With the striking giant Peter Crouch liable to play for Paul Hart`s mob, Bassong could hold the key at the back half of the pitch as we go in pursuit of a desperate home clean sheet. Bassong said:

"If we want to stay up and be a Premier League team we have to win. It`s a tough game and I hope we will win.

We all want to stay in the Premier League and the manager has given us confidence that we can do this. All games are difficult in this league. And if we get anything from Portsmouth, we will have to work hard for it."

the two forwards that tore you apart last year probably won't be playing - although we do still have plenty of pace in our side. Don't be fooled by the long ball tactics we try in the first 10 mins though - we can play good football too!

Glenn JOhnson is a total class act, would love to have him in our side.

A lot of this will depend on the first 20 mins. If we can hold the barcode onslaught we have a chance. If we are very negative we'll get beat! 442 & we may get a draw
