'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Pre Pompey: Spiderman

As a former Pompey target, with his former club Mallorca having even cited the South Coast club`s interest as part of their claim of value for the player, Jonas Gutierrez has more than most to prove against the Sailor Boys. Speaking to the Chronicle, the Argentinian said:

"I have no regrets. I hoped I would have the chance to go to Portsmouth in January 2008 before I came here. But I am glad that I came here. The only worry is that we have five games and we have to win as many of them as possible.

This is going to be my most important game for the club. We know exactly where we are so we must take three points. The training has been very good and everybody is prepared for the game with Portsmouth. All the players are aware of just how serious this situation is."

he didn't come to pompey because he was over priced in januarry. I was a little gutted when you did eventually sign him... but, I think we have a decent set of wingers now, and he was more expensive than all of them... so I can;t really complain!

Well he was overpriced but that's the January tx window for you. Had he come he just might have had a FA Cup Winners medal now. No chance of that of that happening now.
