Newcastle make £6m bid for Egyptian ace

Newcastle United have made a sensational bid to sign Egyptian troublemaker Amr Zaki, who is on loan at Wigan Athletic from El Zamalek. The Daily Mail is reporting that United are prepared to pay £6 million for the 26-year-old's services, and made their move on Saturday evening after the home defeat against Chelsea.

Zaki had a quite public falling-out with Lactics boss Steve Bruce who branded the player as a poor professional, and a troublemaker after the Egyptian failed to report back after International duty.

The Magpies are hopeful of striking a deal, and want the forward to join them immediately after the transfer window reopens in the summer, as Alan Shearer eyes a total reshuffle of the club and its players.
