Paul Parker On Michael Owen

Paul Parker on Michael Owen

Former QPR and Manchester United star Paul Parker has given his views on the exclusion of Michael Owen from the England squad despite a number of injuries whilst a guest on Chappers` Premier League Podcast this week.

Parker had this to say, "Michael Owen is not fit, he`s been out for a long time. Everyone talks about his record for Newcastle but you think about how many games he`s played and it`s all well and good. He may have scored how many in 14 but he`s only played those amounts of games".

"He came on the other day as a sub versus Arsenal and to be perfectly honest he was just going around in his own little world and yet everyone says he needs to move on to go prove himself. I always thought you had to work hard and prove yourself for someone to want you".

Parker also added damningly, "Now where`s he going to go? Do Wigan want him or does he want to go the Championship as I wouldn`t touch him!"

Do you agree that Fabio Capello is right in not including Owen in his England squad? Are Newcastle fans unimpressed by Owen`s recent performances? Let`s hear your views.

It's sad, but it does look as if his history of injuries has done for Michael Owen's England career. Great player a few years back, but you can't see him ever really hitting top form again. Pity really, we don't have many attackers good enough and none as class as Owen.
