Taylor wants to further ambitions at right-back

Taylor wants to further ambitions at right-back

Newcastle United utility man Ryan Taylor has told the club's official web site that even though he is ready to play anywhere on the pitch for his team, he is essentially targeting the right-back berth as his rightful position.

The 24-year-old former Wigan Athletic man said: "I will play anywhere for this club, but right-back is where I want to fulfil my ambitions.

'That's where I want to play and progress, and be the player I want to be.'

With Habib Beye back from injury, it was initially estimated that Taylor would have to settle for a place on the right-wing, but with injuries to Steven Taylor, and Sebastien Bassong, Beye is likely to be moved to centre-back, with the former Lactics player taking up the right-back place.
