Pre Hull: Triple injury boost for United

Newcastle United are set to welcome back midfielders Nicky Butt, Damien Duff, and striker Michael Owen back into the squad after all three made excellent progress in their bid to make the team ready to face Hull City next weekend.

Interim boss Chris Hughton told the club's official website: 'Damien and Nicky should both be okay for Hull. That is a boost given their experience.

'Add to that Michael Owen and we have three players who will be very important for us between now and the end of the season.'

However, United will still be without midfielders Danny Guthrie, Joey Barton, and the suspended Kevin Nolan, with fullback Habib Beye still on the trail of recovery.

With the fixtures you've got to come you'll need all of the three plus some luck.
