More To Come From Emre

Souness has said there is a lot more to come from Turkish midfielder Emre. Emre, who joined from Inter Milan, picked up an injury on international duty in the first week of the season and his comeback against Man Utd ended up in disaster as he pulled a hamstring! However since returning to the side again, he has picked up the handy knack of scoring the winning goal for the Magpies.

Souness said: 'I'm pleased with Emre but it's still early days and I think there is more to come from him. I have seen him play a lot of times and I think he is still feeling his way in English football. He is one of our star players but I think he will get a lot better still. He is still very young.'

He also explains what a star Emre is. Turkey's answer to David Beckham no less?! And then we have Nobby, Peru's most famous man!

'He is the biggest star in Turkish football. Emre is their star player and he can't walk down any street in Turkey without being mobbed. He is the equivalent of David Beckham in England so I don't think the attention he gets is surprising. We have several special players now and he is one of them. When games are tight like that one was, you expect one of your special players to make the difference and that's what happened against Birmingham on Saturday.'

Great to hear some positive things coming out of St James park isn't it?
