Magpies set to meet with King Kev reps

Newcastle United are ready to meet Kevin Keegan's representatives in a meeting on Monday to discuss the world record £9 million pay-off the club are set to pay their ex-manager, with Keegan willing to retract his claim for 'unfair dismissal' if Mike Ashley swallows his pride and reappoints the former England gaffer at Newcastle United.

Contrary to opinion surrounding the entire fiasco, Kevin Keegan has not insisted on the dismissal of club Executive Director (Football) Dennis Wise but has made it clear that the former Chelsea player should stay out of his way in terms of transfers.

Keegan has been pleased with the way the club have handled their transfers in January, and feels that the increased control given to Joe Kinnear could extend to him as well if a return is in fact instigated.

The Geordie nation awaits the decision of Mike Ashley, who insiders feel however will snub Keegan's offer and instead fork out the £9 million.

At the end of the day, he's the only guy who would even think of taking a job here. But Ashley, as always, has already made his mind up. He's sticking with the homebound JFK and his no hope coach/manager. such a shame, Ashley could win back a big chunk of fans and season ticket sales would propagate if he played his cards right !!
