Taylor Looks To 2006/07

Newcastle have confirmed that defender Steven Taylor is unlikely to play again this season.

The England Under-21 international is still suffering from that incident when he dislocated his shoulder on Boxing Day. It was the second time in weeks that his shoulder 'popped out', and the club insist they will tread very carefully with the 20-year-old. Like Titus Bramble, they will not be pressurised into bringing him back too early.

Taylor: 'It's been frustrating for me to sit watching, especially when things haven't been going so well. I hate watching the team when I'm injured because I just want to be out there. I'm desperate to be back but I know I can't rush it this time.

'It was a cock-up at Liverpool. I know I can't rush. I can't take any chances. If it means I don't play again until next season, then I just have to accept that.'
