Luque - The New Marcelino?

We predicted Albert Luque wouldn't last the full 90 minutes of the match at Walsall's Bescot Stadium when he was banished to the Reserves having failed to impress Glenn Roeder with his attitude. But even WE were shocked it lasted less than 13 minutes!

The Spaniard, who cost United £9.5m in a summer swoop from Deportivo La Coruna, had Graeme Souness desperate to show the Geordie public that he hadn't bought a crock by playing him even though it was obvious the player was low on confidence. But Luque has never won over Glenn Roeder, who left him out of the first team squad for the last three games.

The winger went down holding his ankle after a challenge from Gary Cahill on the edge of the Aston Villa box with just 10 minutes gone. But it hardly looked anything more than a slight knock. But he called it a day and limped off.

By that stage, Tommy Craig's side were already two goals down, and went on to lose the game 3-0.

Craig's side are unbeaten at Kingston Park all season, but have lost 8 of their 14 away games.

Goals from Gabriel Agbonlahor, Tobias Mikaelsson and a Craig Gardner penalty made it a miserable evening for the Magpies.

He got an ankle injury. We should give him one more chance, but he's definately on his 9th life!
