Andy Carroll ready to leave Newcastle United

Newcastle United are set to lose one of their homegrown talents due to lack of progress in contract talks. Andy Carroll, a product of the United Academy is ready to leave the Magpies after talks stalled on a new contract.

The player was disgruntled with what the club was offering him, and is set to consider his options in the summer. Carroll, who has just come into the Toon first-team is currently out due to injury, but with tension rising between him and the club's management, it is unlikely that he will return to action for the Magpies this season.

The St. James' Park club have already signed Swedish wonderkid Samuel Adjei from Jonkopings Sodra, and it is understood that he is considered a prospect worth exploring at the expense of Carroll - who, despite being played by Joe Kinnear on a regular basis, is not rated by Dennis Wise, or the rest of the Toon management.

Carroll has fallen down the pecking order after injured first-teamers Mark Viduka, Alan Smith, and Obafemi Martins returned to fitness, and youngsters Xisco, and Nile Ranger showing signs of coming of age.

It is thought that another attempt to reconcile the matter may be sought by the higher-ups at St. James' Park, but Carroll may not be offered whatever he is presently asking for.

Mad mad Terriers! Have you signed up Sir Glenn yet as part of the backroom team?

Another greedy youngster then!

Not likely - he's scored more goals than Alan Smith has for Newcastle and done it in a quarter of the games.
