'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Player ratings v West Brom

Harper - 7 - Not much he could do with the goals, some tidy saves otherwise. Not missing Shay, so far.

S Taylor - 5 - A well taken goal but again serious issues with the offside trap and a terrible effort for the first WBA effort.

Bassong - 6 - Given a more torrid time against Fortune than against Kenwyne Jones last week. Two weeks to consolidate is no bad thing.

Coloccini - 5 - Needs, as our record defensive signing, to take control at the back and start organising the offside trap.

Enrique - 6 - Nowhere near as proactive as against the mackems a week ago, but missed Gutierrez in front of him.

Taylor - 7 - Encouraging debut, including some decent delivery from set pieces that we have been really sorely missing.

Butt - 5 - Costly back pass let Fortune in for the first goal and otherwise looked quite off the pace.

Nolan - 6 - Steady without being spectacular, just like against the mackems last week. Will hopefully get forward a bit more against Everton.

Duff - 8 - A miles better performance on the left wing. Leaves us in a massive quandary as Enrique plays better with Gutierrez on the left wing but Duff adds miles more on the left than the right.

Ameobi - 5 - Still can`t trap a bag of cement and offered very little other than a pass for the first goal. Will say he was injured.

Lovenkrands - 7 - Positive stuff, especially when he got a bit of clear green in front of him. Can be a very useful asset during the run in.
