'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Post Window: Tayls on departures

Having seen two long term teammates leave the club this window, Steven Taylor has made a couple of very different parting gestures to both. Whilst Shay Given is still everyone`s favourite keeper, Charles N`Zogbia has been labelled a bottler in our current predicament:

"We need players who want to be here now. Charles has gone and he didn`t want to be here. He wanted to go - fair enough. Now we have to get on and battle. There are new signings here now so we get on with it. Everybody who is here at the moment is up for the fight.

We`re in a bad situation - a relegation fight. What we need is players who are 100% committed, not players who want to play one week then don`t fancy it the next. We`re happy with what we`ve got and we can see light at the end of the tunnel.

Shay served the club very well. And he was a fantastic servant to the club. We are sad to see him go but life has to on at Newcastle United.

We need to get as many points as we can on the board as soon as possible. We need to take it game by game, if we do that then we will have a great chance of stabilising the situation."
