Domino Effect: Harper`s New Deal

At 13:49 this afternoon the club broke the news that Steve Harper had agreed a new deal with Newcastle, taking our longest serving player through until Summer 2012. With the deal inked and contingency now in place, surely this spells the end for Shay Given? With Tim Krul barred from heading off on loan again to Carlisle the emphasis is on a new order to the SJP goalkeeping ranks, with Harps seemingly unlikely to have signed up to be a 2nd choice keeper.

Again, the talk is of Wise heading to City with the squad tomorrow night to agree the deal with Gary Cook, the Citizen`s current Chief Exec-type person.

After 15 years of skulking in the shadows it's about time he got the number one jersey. Hope he stays off the sunbeds though, last time he played you could probably have seen him from Whitley Bay.
