N'Zogbia desperate to join Aston Villa

Newcastle United midfielder Charles N'Zogbia has reiterated his desire to leave St. James' Park after confirming that he would move to Aston Villa if the Magpies lowered their asking price.

Speaking to Foot Mercato, the 22-year-old Frenchman clarified that a move away from the North-East was definitely on the cards, if not for the Magpies' reluctance to part company with him.

'I`m still in stand-by, waiting for the club to make a decision. We did everything to put the club that are interested in contact with Newcastle.

'But it seems that something is frozen on Newcastle`s part. They have the cards in their hands. It`s just about a good offer being made.

'The club is asking for too much money. All we can do is wait and see.

'The clubs that are interested remain the same, but it`s tough because they are asking for a ridiculous sum of money.'

N'Zogbia also spoke highly of Aston Villa, and manager Martin O'Neill stating that he would prefer a move to the Villans if his coveted transfer to Arsenal does not materialise.

'Arsenal and Aston Villa are top teams in the English league, so I`d be happy to join them,' he revealed.

'I don`t have a priority. Both are good clubs, but I have a little preference for Aston Villa. They have been improving as a team in the last few years, which proves that they can do well.

'I don`t think (that being in Villa`s starting XI is easier than in Arsenal`s), and it`s a young team. Aston Villa`s manager is a good coach, according to my friends. I think he could make me better.'

No he would prefer a move to Aston Villa than Arsenal that is what he said, you have just not wrote everything he has said.

Newcastle's asking price is the problem. Not the clubs in question. The reason he 'prefers' Villa is that Arsenal want no part of him - as Arsene Wenger himself stated. So, of course he would 'prefer' a move to Martin O'Neill's team. He's getting desperate to move. This is his forth interview in a month where he has expressed a desire to leave.

He's a horrible little ***** who needs to be hung off the Tyne Bridge by his gonads. We should take the money and run, he's a cancer in the camp.

I agree, BE. Better sell him off asap. Use the funds to better use.

He's not the only one that wants out. Owen is never going to sign. These could be very dark days for the magpies. I fear that the Championship awaits.

Also Given could also leave to further his career too.

Ah yeah...it's HIM who's the source of unrest and turmoil at Newcastle. If it wasn't for Charles N'Zogbia, you'd be flying high. Yep, HE'S to blame. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Kinnear http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joey_Barton

N'Zogbia has done nothing but go public with his NUFC problems in the last year. We'd be mugs to keep him.
