Owen to Villa barrage

In the wake of Villa signing Emile Heskey, the inevitable rumours linking the Birmingham side to our out of contract striker cropped up immediately. This drew a quick response from Martin O`Neill who, despite being complimentary about the player, didn`t come out with a firm answer over he was about to set up a deal. O`Neill said:

"I have not remotely looked into anything of that sort. But, like everything else, football`s evolving all the time. I don`t know, that`s not to say that Michael Owen is not a terrific player, of course he is, but we`ll see."

Bit surprised the Toon aren't looking to cash in now whilst they can still get some money from him, would you rather he saw out his contract or was pushed out this Jan? I'll pop up and pick him up if that helps you fine folk of Newcastle?

Haha - no chance. Even Ashley, as thick as he is, knows Owen's goals are what will make the difference between us stopping up or going down.

Well you can't say I didn't offer! Good point though, such a shame to see the Toon being shafted like they have, the previous lot were bad enough. Just dislike the thought of Owen costing you 16m and leaving for nothing making even more money himself. This bosman ruling is a tad unjust at times! Good luck the rest of the season (apart from when you play Villa obviously!) I am sure you'll stay up as there are worse teams.

It is at the moment - jesus if we can't beat sunderland at home next weekend the team should be liquidated and players melted down for glue.
