'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Kinnear acknowledges Magpies bids

Derek Llambias, Newcastle United FC's Managing Director is down at the club's training ground at Benton trying to reach a deal with a number of players who are currently on trial at the club.

Peter Løvenkrands is the man Newcastle gaffer Joe Kinnear wants most - out of the four players currently training with the Toon at the club's training facilities.

Løvenkrands' agent flew to the North-East from Denmark after Kinnear sanctioned a move for the former Rangers forward having been impressed with him in training and with his performance in the midweek friendly against Carlisle United.

It is understood that Kinnear has already asked Llambias to put in bids for a number of transfer targets, but the Magpies boss is yet to hear back on any of them.

'Derek's down here on a permanent basis,' Kinnear told The Gazette.

'I've moved him to the training ground - I wanted him more hands-on.

'We need to be able to move quickly, and it's easier to coordinate things if we're all working together at the training ground.

'We've made bids for a number of players, and we're waiting to hear from their clubs.'

The wait never seems to end for the Magpies gaffer as the most popular line uttered by him in recent weeks has been: "We're waiting to hear from (them), (the clubs), or (the players)."

It is unclear however when the wait will come to an end. If anyone is holding their breath, please let it out.
