United prepare £3m bid for French U21 starlet
According to British newspaper The Times Newcastle United are preparing a bid to sign highly-rated French striker Loic Remy. The 22-year-old hitman plays for Ligue 1 side Nice, and is currently in the France B team.
It is understood that Newcastle Executive Director (Football) Dennis Wise sent scouts to France last week to watch Remy, and the Magpies are said to be excited about the reports they received.
Remy is rated around £5 million, but the Toon are preparing a £3 million package, as negotiations begin.
