FA charges Kinnear with 'improper conduct'

FA charges Kinnear with 'improper conduct'

Newcastle United boss Joe Kinnear, and Hull City gaffer Phil Brown have been charged with 'improper conduct' after their toe-to-toe clash in the FA Cup match which saw Hull take the spoils in a 1-0 win.

The two managers had to be separated by match referee Phil Dowd, and were sent to the stands after an angry confrontation broke out. Kinnear and Brown both admitted that even though tempers were flaring, there was no risk of it getting out of hand.

However, after reviewing the tapes, and consulting with all four referees at St. James' Park, the FA has now decided to charge both Kinnear and his counterpart Brown.

The two managers have until 3rd February 2009 to respond to their respective charges.
