Corralled into right back duty in the wake of Habib Beye`s shocking injury, David Edgar has had a mixed time since returning to the team, suffering at the hands of Liverpool but scoring, though keeping a clean sheet against Hull before Wednesday`s horror show. Speaking to the Journal, he said:
"I haven`t made many appearances away from home but as a team we were keeping clean sheets before the Christmas period. That was a massive deal and I think we need to get back to that. As a back four, whoever plays we need to do that because it gives us a solid foundation to go and get some goals.
You always have a chance of winning and you can`t lose if you keep a clean sheet. There`s always a chance of nicking a goal with Michael (Owen) and the strikers we`ve got. The Liverpool game (which the club lost 5-1 on December 28) obviously didn`t help. But we had a good result on Saturday against West Ham and a good 0-0 at Hull in the first FA Cup game. We were just disappointed not to get the win in the replay.
It`s a massive game, we need three points to continue to stay out of the relegation zone and that`s what we`ll be going there to do. It`s a huge game for us - for both clubs."
