Kinnear denies interest in Bafetimbi Gomis

Newcastle United gaffer Joe Kinnear has gone on record stating that he has no interest at all in securing the services of St. Etienne forward Bafetimbi Gomis.

The highly-rated Frenchman is however a target for another unnamed Premiership side according to the implications of Kinnear's statement.

Speaking to The Journal Kinnear said: "Right name, wrong club."

The news will not come as a surprise to Newcastle United fans, as it continues in the dark and unknown path the club has been traveling along for the last two years.

The St. James' Park club are yet to sign anyone in the January transfer window, and if reports are to be believed, they may in fact not sign anyone permanently at all come February 2, 2009.
