Newcastle United ready to snap up Argentine ace

Newcastle United have been put on high alert as Javier Saviola looks to find a new club after being told by Real Madrid that he has no future at the Bernabeu.

Real boss Juande Ramos has given the task of finding Saviola a new club to the club's Sporting Director Predrag Mijatovic, who has received an enquiry from Newcastle regarding the former River Plate ace.

A source at Real revealed: 'We are open to some lines but the time is key in this subject.'

Saviola is however adamant on leaving and is still hoping to turn his fortunes around in Madrid: 'I want to stay with Real and fight for an opportunity. I will only consider leaving if I receive an offer of a big project.'

It is understood that an offer of 5 million would be enough to tempt Real to part company with the man nicknamed 'The Rabbit'.
