Magpies set for two 'expensive' loan signings

Newcastle United gaffer Joe Kinnear has agreed to sign two high-profile players ahead of the clash against Blackburn - on loan. The Magpies are facing financial constraints and loan signings, coupled with free-transfer deals are all Kinnear can hope to achieve. However, Joe is confident that the two men lined up by the club are good enough to immediately come into the Toon first-team.

"We`ve got one or two players, again because it`s an emergency situation at the moment, who we may be taking."

"We`ve agreed a loan deal for two players, two expensive loan deals, again through the end of the season, because of the crisis we`ve got injury wise."

"I`ll possibly know about these within 48 hours, and if that is AOK we may be in a better position for the Blackburn game."

One of the players is thought to be Roma's ex-Liverpool left-back John-Arne Riise, while the other is yet to be disclosed.

Be interesting to see who you guys go for. Seems bizarre to see you having to loan players these days.
