The Verdict

The former-Rangers hitman does not seem like a player worth a second look, but if Newcastle United do pick him up on a free, it will be Dennis Wise's biggest achievement so far, as the Magpies would get a very decent player at no cost at all.

Løvenkrands has bags of pace, and a very wide array of crossing and passing ability, added to his fantastic versatility, and a player who would, as Joe Kinnear put it 'get fans off their seats' with his flair and dribbling ability. He looks to be a definite winner.

Overall ability:77

As long has he doesn't go spouting off to the papers every other day like N'Zogbia he'll definitely get my vote. It would be good to hear a Rangers view on him, given he played so long for them.
