'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Bellamy lashes out at Shay Given

According to The Sun former Newcastle United striker Craig Bellamy launched a scathing attack at Toon goalkeeper Shay Given on the way to the dressing rooms at half-time during Saturday`s 2-2 draw.

The West Ham man, who scored the equalising goal on the 29th minute was described by witnesses as 'ranting but not making much sense.'

'Bellamy just went into one [of his fits] but anyone who played with him at Newcastle, as Shay did, would not have been surprised,' said an insider at St. James' Park.

"Bellamy was ranting and raving but not making a lot of sense," the insider added.

Both men may have to set aside their differences however, if their coveted moves to Abu Dhabi-owned club Manchester City materialises. Mark Hughes is reportedly keen on both players, with West Ham already said to have rejected a £9 million offer for 29-year-old Bellamy.

Sir Bobby Robson - "Bellamy would cause an argument in an empty room". Succinctly put by the elder statesman of English football.
