Takeover Talk: Zahavi hunting

The Sunday Express today claims that Newcastle are one of two clubs targeted by the Israeli super-agent Pini Zahavi. Zahavi, who doesn`t work for Mossad, is said to be a big fan of Avram Grant and the ex-Chelsea manager would be the first hallmark of any potential shakeup. Portsmouth have also been named as another club on his radar, as Gydamak aims to sell the South coast club as soon as possible.

The mooted proposal down here in the south was that he effectively wanted to purchase the club to use it as a feeder club, bringing in youthful talent, giving them match time, and then selling on. The proposal would effectively ensure financial stability by sell ons, but would not create teamstability or feed a long term successful aspiration to reach the champs league etc. We declined to accept his offer when it was submitted I understand.

Sounds like Zahavi to a tee. No doubt some juicy cuts of all those transfer deals will be going in his back pocket. To be fair it doesn't exactly sound too different to what Mike Ashley is doing now.
