'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Pre Hull: Hughton

Despite knowing there is an eminently winnable tie against Crewe or Millwall on the horizon, Chris Hughton has urged that the players focus squarely on the Hull replay before looking into the future. The former Spurs man said:

'The most important thing, as always, is that we concentrate on the replay. Of course, all you can ask for is a home tie against opposition out of this league, and that's what we've got.

It's a nice timely boost for the supporters and a lift for everybody, and certainly a home tie's an incentive to get through to the next phase, but we know it's going to be very difficult. Hull are a good side. They're probably equally good away from home, but it's a nice incentive.

We're very, very aware of what the pitfalls are, but it's a home tie, and I think that's all you can ask for. We've been fortunate, after a good performance, that we're taking them back to St James's. We'll be confident of going through.'
