'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Given marker laid down

Unsurprisingly it is Man City who have started the running in the great Shay Given race. An £8m offer is alleged to have been made, according to the Daily Mail, as we no doubt try to smoke out the likes of Spurs and various Italian clubs linked to him.

Whether £8m is enough for Ashley for a player who has 4 years on his contract that need buying out remains to be seen but I can see the Fat Controller holding out for at least £10m.

Wouldn't believe a word the Daily Mail says - they've had us down as signing Santa Cruz about twelve times this season! You can trust The Mail about as much as you can believe the old phrase "SKY SPORTS UNDERSTANDS" actually means sod all! Having said we desperately need a keeper as Joe Hart is truly awful and most definitely NOT a Premiership player. I'd welcome a decent keeper like Given with open arms - but I think I'd like a new manager first though!

would love to see him at spurs - but Gomes may have done enough to keep the number 1 spot until the end of the season

Big Mal - is Hughes really that bad?
BaldEagle
BaldEagle - The most clueless and inept manager I have ever witnessed at City since Alan Ball. He's turned a fairly competent defence into a virtual open net. The players can't stand him - the fans have finally turned on him. I was hoping he'd be gone by Saturday but for some reason he's still in a job. He's on borrowed time make no mistake!

Any ideas on who is coming in to replace him?
BaldEagle
Absolutely no clue I'm afraid - I'd take anyone right now! We've been linked with the likes of Mancini and Mourinho but it's probably the usual garbage. All we're hearing is the board and Hughes have very different ideas for the direction we should be going in ie. the board want really big names whilst old Sparkless prefers to waste huge amounts has-beens like Bellamy, Parker and Santa Cruz.

Malpower i do wish city well but and as a Spurs supporter i allways preferred you before Manure utd and purple nose , but if you are saying you don`t want Santa Cruz tell hughes to stay clear and we will bid for him ta !
POP
Not enough for him but a good first bid
Doody
POP - Be our guest! If you believe the papers, we appear to have had the same transfer targets for at least 2 seasons now anyway so we might as well add RSC to the list - I think he's grossly overpriced and simply not worth it. He's a one season wonder and is constantly injured - another sign how crap a manager Hughes is that he's considering wasting so much money on him!
