Ash Cash slash: Rich List

Having come to Newcastle with an alleged fortune of 1.8bn, Mike Ashley has had a pretty traumatic 18 months as his gambles and the stock value of Sports Direct have wiped almost a billion of his wealth. Ashley lags in 14th position, well behind City`s Sheikh, Abramovich and QPR`s consortium.

In the players list, Michael Owen and Damien Duff are hardly going to be affected by the credit crunch, resting at 2nd and 14th respectively in the table. Both are dwarfed by 'Brand` Beckham`s 125m personal stash.
