Transfer Tattle: Bouba Diop no-go

Transfer Tattle: Bouba Diop no-go

With Newcastle desperately short of holding midfield style players, our hopes of acquiring a new one took a massive blow when Pompey midfielder Papa Bouba Diop was ruled out through a knee injury for the next three months.

Diop has been linked consistently with the club for a reasonable period of time, as Joe Kinnear looks to plug the gaps caused by Nicky Butt's aging legs. With NUFC needing our new signings A.S.A.P., this takes the former Fulham player well out of the equation.
