Transfer Tattle: Barton-Pompey rumours

Despite having been out for the best part of two months with a leg injury suffered in a tackle with Wigan`s Stockton born thug Lee Cattermole, Joey Barton still continues to attract transfer rumours with a new link today. Following previous links to Blackburn and a reunion with Sam Allardyce, it is a move to Pompey that makes the news today.

Adams, of course, runs sporting based addiction clinic, Sporting Chance, which has seen the likes of Barton and Gazza in situ there. Any move would leave Mike Ashley a very satisfied customer as he has been trying to peddle the midfielder for months. However it would leave the fans seriously goosed at the lack of bodies in our dwindling midfield. Barry Ferguson still of course looks a long way from coming in as a potential replacement.
