From Boumsong to Bougherra

Following on from our signing of Jean Alain Boumsong, way back in the January of 2005, it looks like four years on another Rangers player could be beating the track down the M6 and over the A69 to Tyneside. Madjid Bougherra is the next centre half linked to Tyneside as Joe Kinnear steps up his campaign to bring strength in depth to our shallow squad.

A fee ranging from 2.5m to 3m is being suggested, with the Gers snuffling up Christophe Berra from Hearts as a replacement. Bougherra has played for Crewe and Sheffield Wednesday in his time in England.

Nowhere near a patch on Cuellar and Hutton for importance to the team or value given they went for multi million pound moves. Slightly injury prone but has had some good games, Whilst I cant see us taking a small profit on him, any money higher than 3M is a steal for us. As long as we dont go out and get Berra as a replacement... why dont you just go for berra instead?
