Pre Wigan: Oba Update

Pre Wigan: Oba Update

With the Wigan game essential for showing our credentials of a top half of the table finish, we`ve been dealt an early blow as Oba Martins, who we thought might just get fit, has been ruled out of the match with his current groin injury.

Joe Kinnear however is optimistic he will play for the club over the festive period, stating:

I'd be disappointed if he's not back for the Liverpool match. He did his groin when he scored at Portsmouth. From then he hasn't had one day off the treatment table. On Saturday I took him off and he had a bit of a stretch, but he couldn't do it. He was still getting pain, so I stuck him back on the treatment table.'
