Journos: Stay off the sherry!

Journos: Stay off the sherry!

In the midst of Express Group rumours that Joe Kinnear will be applying for the sunderland job, our erstwhile manager immediately ridiculed the story, saying:

'I think someone has been at the Christmas sherry, to be honest. Every week there's a different story in this part of the world, since I've arrived here it is KK is back or Alan Shearer is taking over. Today it's I'm going to Sunderland. I know nothing about these things, I don't even know where they're getting this sort of stuff.

I'm focused on the job I'm doing, I'm delighted to be at Newcastle, it's a very proud moment for me to be working at a place like this. I'll honour my contract whatever happens here. I'm here to the end of the season, for sure. After that, who knows?

It's another saga, living up this way, it's never-ending. You`re a mischievous lot. You`re never happy unless you`re giving me a kick in the cobblers. I`ve never had an agent - no one at all. I don`t like agents, I don`t pay agents, I don`t have nothing to do with agents."
