Joe likes a festive Carroll

Joe likes a festive Carroll

Despite the rumours abounding about a potential loan move in the New Year for Andy Carroll, following his hat trick against Carlisle Reserves in midweek Joe Kinnear has stated the striker is still in his plans. Carroll has had a topsy turvy time of late, with starts seriously limited under Kevin Keegan and Joe Kinnear. JFK said:

"Andy's showing so much promise. The lad had a terrible injury with his Achilles when he was hurt in the summer. But he's come back, and the good thing about him is that we've him under our supervision on a daily basis. He trains with the first team, and that benefits him.'
