'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Kameni, Big Steve and other targets

Once again it`s silly season as a whole host of new and old names find themselves back in the hat for transfers in the January window.

First up is Espanyol keeper Carlos Kameni which seriously lacks effect in the rumour mill. With Shay and Harps both making positive noises it seems hardly likely we`d go for another in the position Joe Kinnear freely admits he can sleep easy over.

Next up is Big Steve Mouyokolo. The lad plays for some Ligue 2 non-entity in France and seems just the sort of player Dennis Wise would sign for a fee north of £5m. He plays centre half, another position where we better stocked than most.

Finally we see the 19 year old Toulouse player Moussa Sissoko linked, this time with player sound bites. Sissoko said:

"I don't know where the speculation regarding Newcastle has come from, but it is good to be watched by scouts. Sometimes these things come to nothing and they recruit a different player, but if they want me then I am working hard.

I love the Premier League. It is the best league in the world. The stadiums are always full and I believe my game would be suited to the English style as I like the physical aspects of it.

Newcastle? They are a big team, with big support. From what I have been told they have the best fans in England. But, it is up to Toulouse. I am happy here and I am still learning. If they think it is time for me to move on then I will, but at the moment my desire is to play for Toulouse and keep on proving myself.'

Also mentioned in despatches are long term links Steven Warnock, Leyton Baines and Matty Upson.
