JFK on fringe players

Although there was a lot of proposed much mooted movement for some of our fringe players in late November, in the end it came to nothing as Joe Kinnear refused to budge for the likes of Norwich and Burnley who seemed keen to get Andy Carroll and David Edgar in to bolster their Championship seasons. Kinnear however said:

"There is a possibility that both Edgar and Carroll will be called upon at some stage. And it`s true I had clubs enquire about them going out on loan. But, basically, I wasn`t in a position to do that. I explained to both of the lads that it would be a risk if we picked up any more injuries.

Obviously, both of them would dearly love to be playing, and they`re a bit frustrated, but they`re aware they`re needed on the bench, as they may be called upon. At the moment, I`m not in a position to let anybody go."
