Owen not on Benitez radar
Following a series of weekend rumours linking Michael Owen with a return to his native North West, Rafa Benitez has hopefully put a cork on it all by denying an active interest in our top earner. In the past both Carragher and Gerrard have called for the return of Anfield`s second prodigal son, however the goateed gaffer Rafa said:
'We will have Fernando Torres back soon, and I can assure everyone that clearly we are not going for Michael Owen. The game with West Ham was frustrating and I felt we deserved to win.'
That just leaves Everton, Spurs, Chelsea etc to issue their own denials!
