Shay`s Italian Job

Good news. Not only are we having to fend off Spurs to retain Shay Given but now Giovanni Trappatoni has been allegedly recommending our number one to various Serie A clubs. Joe Kinnear was not a happy man indeed as he raged at the OAP:

I think it's a little bit disrespectful. Shay, I think, has got another three years here on his contract. Why on earth Giovanni would want to bring out a statement like that I don't know - maybe he was just getting on the good side of Shay.'

Trappatoni did exactly the same with Robbie Keane last season when he stated he should leave spurs to join a Champions league side, and the rest is history.

TBH it would be nice to see some more english players go over sea's and make a name for themselves.
