The Enrique poser

The Enrique poser

Contradictory reports today surround the future of Jose Enrique, as the papers say he`ll be off whilst the player himself has indicated he wants to stay. Steven Warnock`s name has again cropped up, along with other suitors Man City, as the press tout potential replacements for the Spaniard who seems unable to steer clear of knocks and niggles, much like his compatriots Albert Luque and Elena Marcelino.

Enrique himself though said:

"I want to complete my contract. It doesn't bother me if they want to get rid of me. I have still got a few years left and I want to play an important part in getting the team back to where it deserves to be. I am very happy here. I like the city. The fans are 10 out of 10.

A club with a history like Newcastle's should not be so low in the table. It's killing me that Newcastle are having such a bad season. The fans don't deserve this and I think we are going to be able to get out of this situation. We are only in November and anything can happen. We would all like to get into Europe but it's not going to happen."
