Beying for clean sheets

Beying for clean sheets

With the team having dropped some serious clangers against Fulham, Habib Beye has demanded his defensive unit ships up against the Latics tomorrow and carries on more like they did in the Villa game. The Villa shut out represented only our second clean sheet of the season as we again seem to have garnered that fragile back line reputation. Beye said:

'Aston Villa was only our second clean sheet and we need to improve that. It's very important to keep the clean sheet because you can't score two or three goals every game. Sometimes you have to win 1-0 and that is where we have to do our job. We did this against Villa but then conceded two against Fulham.

We beat Wigan last year at home with a late, 1-0 win and we'd certainly settle for the same again. The more games we play together as a defence the better it gets. But we must remember that we defend as a team and it's not just about four players. We all know we need more clean sheets because we're always confident of scoring goals.'
