Taylor return a necessity

Having had his confidence, nerves and everything else torn completely to shreds against Pompey at SJP last season, there were a few of the black and white persuasion who thought Claudio Cacapa wouldn`t pull on the shirt again. However he has come back, albeit at an even slower pace than before. However yesterday saw a return to the Pompey Cacapa, as he made a needless rick to let Johnson score and then got caught dithering for the second.

His overall demeanour hardly instilled confidence and it ended up causing panic stations between him and Coloccini as they became the Geordie Chuckle Brothers again. Joe Kinnear practically went on record today to beg Steven Taylor to limp through this Saturday`s game, saying:

'Steven missed the game (against Fulham) which was disappointing. But it's nothing too serious and I think he'll be back for Wigan.'
