'If It's Football, It's Vital'

JFK reflects on Fulham

Watching his side slide to a needless 2-1defeat against the Cottagers, Joe Kinnear was less than enamoured by his team`s totally inept defensive display as two daft mistakes ended up putting the kybosh on our back to back morale boosting wins. Joe said:

"I wouldn`t have said I would have done things differently, because I sat down with everybody concerned and the options weren`t there. I wanted Taylor to play - there`s no doubt about that. We left it until as late as possible to put him in the side, but he pulled out. He was still feeling his groin, and we had to make a decision. I know there`s Bassong, but it`s easy to say that after the event.

We feel amongst ourselves that Cacapa is the better player of the two, but he didn`t have an exceptionally good game, and the first goal was an error on his part.

Michael Owen did all right. We just wanted to get all three strikers on and go 4-3-3, with Damien Duff breaking in there. I thought Gutierrez played in and out. A lot of times he lost possession instead of playing the ball early."
