JFK and Owen - where`d the Chelsea link come from?

Following the morning`s maddish 'Owen to Chelsea` latest, Joe Kinnear has come out to rubbish the latest rumours linking his star striker away from St James Park. Bewildered over the claim, Kinnear went on the record on Sky Sports News to state that neither him or Mickey had heard anything about the tale. He said:

'I have spoken to Michael about it, he's bewildered himself where this stuff comes from. He just doesn't know. Of course we want to keep our best players, and I have made that known to Michael. He is a top class player but he knows himself that the fitness level that he's at presently is not what it should be but that does not mean to say that if I put him on with a half an hour to go that he's not going to score you goals.'

To be honest, it doesn't really have anything to do with 'interim manager' Kinnear. He probably won't even be at the club in January!

Exactly Merlin. The club has been sold 5 times over in that rag in the last few months.
