Ahead of the January window the latest link with a Newcastle player sees Lil Mickey Owen heading the way of Stamford Bridge. The papers this morning speculate that Owen could be on his way to Phil Scolari`s mob for as little as £3m, with his contract up in the summer. Expect silly season and the ever predictable links to both Spuds and Man City to follow very quickly.

I don't think the links between Owen & Chelsea are all that unbelievable. In fact, we brought the subject up about a month ago over on Vital Chelsea. His contract is expiring in the summer, so you have to expect that teams will be sniffing around him. I for one, as a Chelsea supporter, think if we could nab Owen for £3-£5m in January, that would be a brilliant piece of business.
