'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Wee Willy backs his man

It had all gone a little too quiet on the McKay front recently, with our less than favourite agent having been well out of the mix since Freddie left. However with Joey Barton copping a whole host of hell since coming out of the nick, he has stuck up for his charge, saying:

"All he is interested in doing is concentrating on playing his football and playing well for Newcastle and nothing else. But he's not going to get through the whole season without getting into an argument with another player. That will never happen.

Martin O'Neill is peeved because his two England midfielders were made to look very ordinary by Joey on Monday.

Who do you think scored Newcastle's two goals on Monday night? It was a black lad [Obafemi Martins] and Joey celebrated with him. Are those the actions of someone who would get caught up in something like this?'
